Holy Family School was opened in February, 1987 to
replace the former Immaculate Conception School on
St. Thomas Line. At the time of opening, it served
students from Kindergarten to Grade 8. With the
steady growth of the school community, Holy Family
was re-configured to a Kindergarten to Grade 6
school to begin the 2003-2004 school year.
Holy Family Elementary is part of the Eastern School
District of Newfoundland and Labrador and presently
has a student population of 715 from K-6. There are
currently 46 members of the teaching staff and 9
support staff assigned to the school.
Currently the school offers English programming from
K-6 with an Intensive Core French program offered in
Grade 6. In September 2005, an Early French
Immersion stream began with the 2005-06 Kindergarten
students. Early French Immersion is now offered in
Grades K, 1, 2, 3 and 4. |
